The bill validator in my IGT s+ has stopped working. I recently had a 12 error code and changed the battery. After that I got the 61 error and cleared that by holding down the white reset button until I got the 61-1. That cleared it out and game works with quarters. However, I cant get the bill validator working. Sometimes I'll hear is spin up on startup or when I unseat the. I'll validator but the front light never comes on and it will not accept Bill's at all.
When do you need the set chip? If you're only getting the 61 loop error?
If I get a new validator, will I need the set chip or will it just work?
Any other troubleshooting step you can think of?
I was thinking maybe just the front light bulbs were blown and there was something else wrong with the bv.
